The Choir at Celtic Colours now in the gallery.
The Inverness Gaelic Choir (Coisir Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis) welcomes members from all over Inverness shire and Highland Region.
The choir has been performing for over 70 years but has more recently been shaking up the Gaelic choral scene with a diverse program and innovative approach.
It is in the last 12 years that Còisir Ghàidhlig Inbhirnis has really made an impact, winning the prestigious Lovat and Tullibardine Shield five times at the Royal National Mod, most recently in 2006.
We meet every Wednesday evening to rehearse and socialise at the Inverness Gaelic School, Slackbuie from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
With success comes demand and the Choir has found itself receiving an ever increasing number of requests to sing at events and festivals for Scottish and International audiences. Also have a look at our News for news and to find out what the choir and its members are up to.
In the run up to performances there may be additional rehearsals on evenings and weekends.
There’s a core membership of approximately 40 male and female singers, containing a mix of fluent Gaelic speakers, learners and non-speakers.
New members are always welcome, regardless of musical experience or fluency of the Gaelic language.
The only pre requisites are willingness to learn and lots of enthusiasm!
If you would like to listen to the choir singing whilst you browse the site, please open the mp3 player - this will play in a new window whilst you browse our site.
